I've tried a blog before. Had a handful of inconsistent readers. I've tried a blog at work at two different employers. One took off (
acusports.blogspot.com) and even has sustained by departure; the other McMurry's athletics blog (
mcmurrysports.blogspot.com) became a burden with the amount of efforts I put into our official athletics web site (
mcmurrysports.com) and its social media outlets, so it went by the wayside.
This one isn't for anybody but me. Bascially a personal writing outlet. I'm sure it will be sports heavy, but I'm just going to write about whatever I want. Whenever I want. I might write often, I might write sparingly, but I'm not going to sweat it.

So, the first topic - the name of the blog. "He's so reasonable." This is actually ironic, although I have believe it to be true; my assistant at McMurry, Thomas Beckham and I are regular listeners to ESPN Radio's
Colin Cowherd. While I know that some of his programming is reactionary; I often find his show the most insightful of the big 3 (
Mike and Mike, The Herd &
Scott Van Pelt's show). Mike & Mike entertain a lot of people, but I don't find them to be intriguing; I prefer Ryan Russillo to SVP any day of the week, but mostly, I love to listen to the Herd.) While many of his opinions are outlandish (
e.g. Cliff Lee only pitches well against teams he's auditioning for), I find a lot of his points are extremely refreshing as the anti-fan, and his perspective as the smart observer who refuses to be blinded by bias (unless you're talking USC, Bill Belichick, or Kobe). But often times, I'll be listening to the show with Thomas (we share an office) and say "He's sooo reeeeassonable," and often it becomes a joke when he has a terrible point, and Thomas fires back the same response.
So there, that's the name, we'll go from there. If there are random readers. I'm 27 years old, I'm a sports information director for a small college in Abilene, Texas called McMurry University. I'd love to be a big-time sports fan (and I once was), but now I have little time for sports other than the NCAA Division III and the American Southwest Conference. Which, believe it or not, often has some very interesting moments despite being shunned by national media.
At the risk of a burnout on the first night, that's all I got.
I'll post my next post when I post my next post.
We'll be seein ya.
